Rangers boss Mark Warburton suggests that maintaining a good level of performance is one of his side’s main objectives this season as they prepare for life back in the top-flight, the Evening Times report.
The Gers will make their long-awaited return to action in the Scottish Premiership when they host Hamilton in early August, four years on after their controversial demotion to the fourth tier.
Mark Warburton’s side will be expected to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premierhip title this season, while a number of supporters believe winning a piece of silverware will suffice should they fail to do so.
Warburton, on the other hand, is instead focung on performances as the former Brentford boss targets good form for long periods as he believes success in terms of silverware will then naturally follow.
“A good season for us is to come here and be pleased with the level of performance. If you put it into a sentence, if we are pleased with the level of performance then the rest will naturally follow suit,” Warburton told the Evening Times.
“It is important for us to impose ourselves on games, which we spoke about last year, important to dominate possession, to maximise it, to use our possession wisely in terms of creating chances and to rotate the squad well.”

There is a growing sense of optimism around Ibrox at present and the club’s decision to bulk up the squad with as many as seven new signings thus far has had a positive impact.
The Gers have opted to bring in plenty of experience with the likes of Clint Hill, Matt Gilks and Joey Barton moving north of the border while fellow addition Niko Kranjcar will bring a sense of flair and excitement.
