Rangers beat Motherwell 2-1 at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has told the Daily Mail that he is ‘delighted’ with Emerson Hyndman’s pass for Kenny Miller’s winning goal against Motherwell on Saturday afternoon.

The Gers were in Scottish Cup action on Saturday afternoon as Motherwell travelled to Ibrox, with a place in the fifth round of the competition up for grabs.

Mark Warburton’s men went into the game as favourites, but were stunned when Louis Moult continued his superb season with the opening goal, putting Motherwell in front with just over 15 minutes left to play.

Rangers had to respond and did just that, as Kenny Miller headed home Martyn Waghorn’s cross with just six minutes left to play, and Miller scored the winner as he latched on to Emerson Hyndman’s pass to score on 89 minutes.

It was a dramatic turnaround from the Gers, and new signing Hyndman certainly made a big impact with his inch-perfect through ball for Miller’s winning goal in the 2-1 win.

The American, recently signed on loan from Premier League side Bournemouth, came on for his competitive debut after 73 minutes, and showed why Warburton was so keen to sign him as he threaded through an outstanding pass for Miller to score.

After the final whistle at Ibrox, Gers manager Warburton told the Daily Mail that he was ‘delighted’ with Hyndman’s pass, whilst noting that he’s a little further ahead of fellow new arrival Jon Toral in terms of fitness.

Arsenal-owned Toral, also signed on loan, started against Motherwell but was taken off after 63 minutes in favour of Josh Windass, and Warburton admitted that he wants to build up Toral slowly having struggled for playing time with Granada earlier this season.

“Jon had 45 minutes last week and 60 this week,” said Warburton. “We’ll keep building him up slowly. Emerson is further down the line with match time but I’m delighted with his pass for the winning goal,” he added.
