Rangers boss makes complaint which could impact Celtic’s game against Kilmarnock.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is unhappy with refereeing yet again after another controversial week in Scotland.
This time he has called on the SFA to investigate Kilmarnock midfielder Alan Power, who received a yellow card in Saturday’s clash against Rangers for a high challenge.
Gerrard told BBC Sport: “I’ll be interested to see if there’s a citing. I don’t know who points the citings out, but I’ll be interested to see what happens.”
Gerrard was making the comments after goalkeeper Allan McGregor was retrospectively charged for an incident against Aberdeen and was given a two-game ban.
A ban for Kilmarnock midfielder Power could backfire on Rangers.
Kilmarnock’s next fixture is against Celtic, who are Rangers’ main title rivals.
Gerrard putting pressure on the SFA to ban Power would backfire if he misses the Premiership game at home to Celtic next Sunday.
Power has been a regular starter for Steve Clarke’s side this season, making 32 appearances so far.
