Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wants Alfredo Morelos to stay at Ibrox next season.

Morelos, who cost Rangers £1.5 million in transfer fees when they signed him from HJK Helsinki in the summer of 2017 as reported by Sky Sports, has been linked with moves away from Ibrox this summer.
According to The Daily Mail, clubs in Turkey, China and France are interested in signing the striker in a £6 million deal.
The 21-year-old Colombian striker scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 35 Scottish Premiership appearances for Rangers this past season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
Rangers manager Gerrard has said that he wants Morelos at Ibrox next season, but the Liverpool legend has also suggested that he wants to sign a striker as a replacement for the departed Kenny Miller.

The Scottish Sun quotes Gerrard as saying about Morelos: “We love the player. The fans love the player. He’s a goal scorer. We know what he can add to this team and squad.
“If you’re asking me if his head has been turned that’s a question you’d have to ask the player himself. But where we stand right now he’s a Rangers player and I’m delighted to have him.”
Gerrard added about signing another striker: “That’s an area we are looking at. When a legend goes out the door, and someone as good as Kenny Miller, whose been a goal scorer throughout his career, it’s a very difficult void to fill.
“Big shoes to fill. So it’s important that we try to get that one right. It is an area we’re looking at.”

Time to step up
Morelos did have a very good campaign on a personal level for Rangers in 2017-18, but the youngster does need to step up.
The 21-year-old striker’s form dipped in the second half of the past season, and there were also issues with his consistency.
Wit Gerrard eyeing another striker, it is clear that Morelos will face stiff competition for his place in the team next season and will have to step up.
