Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have brought Scott Arfield to Ibrox.
Ibrox club Rangers have secured the services of Arfield on a free transfer following the 29-year-old midfielder’s departure from Burnley at the end of the 2017-18 season.
Liverpool legend Gerrard, who has been appointed as the Rangers manager, has spoken highly of the Canada international.
Gerrard told Rangers’ official website: “Scott Arfield was a no-brainer on a free-transfer. He will help in a lot of ways both on and off the pitch. He is a fantastic player.”
Quality footballer
Arfield proved himself in English football during his time at Burnley from 2013 until the end of the past season, and his performances in the Championship and in the Premier League were very encouraging.
The Canada international has arrived at Ibrox with a strong reputation, and his wealth of experience will make the Gers a force in the middle of the park.
Having played in Scotland with Falkirk, the former Huddersfield Town midfielder will know all about the Scottish top flight and will be ready for the challenge that lies ahead.
Rangers will be aiming to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
