Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has told The Daily Star that he is not interested in signing Everton youngster Lewis Gibson.

According to the back pages of The Scottish Daily Star, The Scottish Daily Express and The Daily Record (October 18, 2019), Rangers are looking at Everton talent Gibson (click here to read more).

It has been reported that the 19-year-old central defender is out of contract at the Toffees at the end of the season, and that the youngster could leave for £240,000, despite the Merseyside outfit having paid £6 million as transfer fee to Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the summer of 2017.

Rangers manager Gerrard has said that he is not looking to sign Gibson from Everton in the January transfer window.

Gerrard told The Daily Star: “Lewis Gibson isn’t on the radar, it’s just speculation.”

Back in action

Rangers will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Heart of Midlothian away from home in the Scottish Premiership.

The Gers are second in the league table at the moment with 21 points from eight matches, a point behind leaders and bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic, who were in action on Saturday.

Lewis Gibson scores putting Everton 1-0 up during the Premier League 2 game between Everton and Blackburn Rovers at Goodison Park on September 16, 2019 in Liverpool, England.
