Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers have been linked with Aaron Hickey.

The Scottish Sun recently claimed of interest in the 17-year-old left-back from Rangers.
It has been reported that Rangers’ new sporting director Ross Wilson will urge Gerrard to make a £2 million move for the Hearts youngster.
The Daily Mail has also credited defending Premier League champions Manchester City with interest in the teenager, with the report stating that the Citizens plan to send Hickey back on loan to Hearts after signing him for £1.5 million in January.
Rangers boss Gerrard has said that he has no interest in Hickey, and the Liverpool legend has also stated that he does not plan to spend a lot of money in the January transfer window.
Gerrard told The Scottish Sun about Hickey: “Lewis Gibson isn’t on the radar, it’s just speculation. The kid at Hearts, Hickey, is the same.
“Craig Levein has had to answer that question but he shouldn’t because there’s nothing in it.”
The Rangers boss added about his January transfer plan to The Scottish Sun: “Listen, if something pops up where we think it’ll strengthen us, of course we’ll look into it. But the next window will be more to downsize in terms of numbers — because there are two or three who need to go and play.
“I’m finding it hard to get them into the 18 so it’ll be more about downsizing than adding to it. If a player becomes available that’s better than what we’ve got, myself and Ross Wilson will look at it.”

Back in action
Rangers returned to action on Sunday afternoon, but the Gers failed to win against Heart of Midlothian away from home and played out a 1-1 draw in the Scottish Premiership.
The draw means that Rangers are now second in the league table at the moment, level on points with leaders and bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic.
