Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard seems to rate Ibrox midfielder Andy Halliday highly.
Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday
Gerrard, who was appointed the Rangers manager in the summer, has hailed Halliday, and has said that the 26-year-old midfielder is almost like a captain in the dressing room.
The Rangers manager told The Scottish Sun: “I love Andy Halliday.”
The former Liverpool midfielder added: “It was a bit of a shock, really, from what I’d heard or read. His performances are getting stronger and stronger.
“He’s almost like a captain in the dressing room. In fact, he is the unofficial captain of this club. He glues everything together.”
Important player
Halliday has established himself as an important player for Rangers under manager Gerrard and is playing well at the moment.
The 26-year-old joined Rangers in the summer of 2015 after leaving Bradford City at the end of the 2014-15 season and when Mark Warburton was in charge of the Gers.

The Scotsman spent the first half of the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Gabala FK in the Azerbaijan Premier League and struggled to make an impact at Rangers in the second half of the season.
However, Halliday is starting matches for Rangers at the moment, and Gerrard’s aforementioned comments underline just how much the Liverpool legend rates him.
