Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard talks up striker Alfredo Morelos.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been talking up key man Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian striker has been subject of interest from Bordeaux in recent days, which seen Rangers manager Gerrard declare his admiration for the forward.
Gerrard is now hoping to get Morelos signed to a contract extension.
He told Herald Scotland: “He’s so important for us, he’s out talisman, he’s our top goalscorer.
“We love him, I love working with him, I want to keep him, he deserves a new deal. We love him and I want him to stay.”

Morelos is only 22, and has hit form after starting slowly in Rangers’ early Europa League games at the start of July.
He is not perfect, but he is he best striker Rangers have, and his hat-trick at the weekend showed the club are lucky to have him.
Gerrard’s public comments are all made with the idea of showing Morelos how important he is, and hoping to persuade him to sign a new contract.
While Rangers are in command of his future heading into the final days of the transfer window, getting the striker to sign a new deal now will leave them in a stronger position for future windows, when interest will no doubt raise it’s head again.
