Zak Rudden impressed for Glasgow Rangers at Ibrox on Friday.

Speaking to Rangers TV, Steven Gerrard has singled out young Zak Rudden for praise following Friday’s 6-0 demolition of Bury at Ibrox.
The 18-year-old academy gem added gloss to an already-emphatic scoreline last night by tapping home a Glenn Middleton cross from close range.
It was Rudden’s first goal for Rangers, and Gerrard reckons that it could be the “first of many” for the young striker.
He told Rangers TV: “I’m delighted for all of the lads but especially Zak Rudden. It was his first goal here at Ibrox and I’m sure it’s going to be the first of many.”
Rudden has clearly impressed Gerrard during the Gers’ pre-season training, and he was one of a number of youth players who the 38-year-old manager took to Spain for the warm weather camp last month.
It will be interesting to see if the teenager will stay with Rangers’ first team or whether Gerrard keeps him grounded by dropping Rudden back to the development squad.
Clearly he is only 18 and regular football with the senior side is a big ask but, as the adage goes, if you’re good enough then you’re old enough and if he is involved in Thursday’s Europa League qualifier with FK Shkupi in Glasgow then it could be a big indicator as to what Gerrard plans for the starlet.
