Ryan Jack played well for Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers on Thursday.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard
Gerrard was impressed with the performance of Jack for Rangers against Legia Warsaw away from home in the first leg of their Europa League playoff round tie in Poland on Thursday evening.
The 27-year-old defensive midfielder started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as it ended in a goalless draw.
Jack was brilliant in the middle of the park, marshalled his area well, and broke the opposition’s play.
Gerrard was impressed with the display produced by Jack and has hailed the former Aberdeen star’s consistency.
Gerrard told Rangers’ official website about Jack: “I have been talking about Ryan Jack’s consistency for a long time and he loves a challenge and loves a big game.
“He is enjoying this stage and I think he is really enjoying playing in this system. We need to keep him in this form as long as we can.”

Important player
Jack has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2017 when he joined the Gers on a free transfer and when Pedro Caixinha was in charge of the Scottish Premiership giants.
The 27-year-old has established himself as an important player for the Gers, and with Rangers aiming to challenge bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season, he will have to be on top form.
