Coulibaly featured for Rangers in their Scottish Premiership match against Livingston away from home this past Sunday afternoon.
The 22-year-old midfielder started the game and was substituted at half time – a decision that did appear strnange aas Gerrard’s side lost 1-0.
Rangers boss Gerrard has explained why the Mali international midfielder, signed on loan from Angers in the summer transfer window, was substituted
Gerrard told The Scottish Sun about taking off Coulibaly: “That change was tactical. We just wanted to try and get more players on the pitch who are more inventive, who could maybe create something at the final third.
“I felt like we didn’t need Lassana in the second-half basically. I felt we could be a bit more adventurous. We weren’t passing ball well enough and we were getting up to the final third.”

Disappointing result
Rangers were expected to win against Livingston, and it must be bitterly disappointing for the Ibrox faithful that the team failed to win.
The Gers, though, need to put the defeat behind them, and move on and focus on their upcoming matches.
Gerrard’s Rangers are sixth in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 11 points from seven matches, eight points behind leaders Heart of Midlothian and two behind bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic.
