Jermain Defoe is on loan at Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers at the moment.

Defoe joined Rangers on an 18-month loan deal from Premier League outfit Bournemouth in January 2019.
According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the former West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur striker is out of contract at Bournemouth in the summer of 2020.
Gerrard was pleased with Defoe scoring a hat-trick against Hibernian on Sunday, and the Liverpool legend has suggested that his 36-year-old former England international teammate could stay at Rangers beyond next summer.
Gerrard told The Daily Record about Defoe: “I get the age. But, for me, the important thing is how you feel.
“If you’ve never touched a drop of alcohol in your life and are as hungry as Jermain Defoe, age never comes into my thinking.
“I don’t think, ‘He’s 36 so can’t start or play two games on the road’ I know this player, his hunger, his professionalism.
“He can score goals for Rangers for this season and, if I can predict, probably after this season as well.”

Good long-term planning?
Defoe may be 36 years of age, but the Englishman is going strong as ever and can score a lot of goals in the Scottish Premiership.
Securing the services of the former Spurs star on a free transfer next summer will not be a bad idea for Rangers, who are aiming to challenge bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
