Rangers boss Steven Gerrard spoke to reporters during is pre-match press conference yesterday, and aimed a thinly-veiled dig at Celtic and Brendan Rodgers, downplaying the quality of the Hoops’ display in the Old Firm derby two weeks ago, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The Gers have made real improvements since Gerrard took over in the summer, but they will be disappointed with their return of just five points from their opening four league outings.
Gerrard’s men sit seven points adrift of league leaders Hearts, but their next four games represent a real chance for them to close the gap, with three of them coming at Ibrox.
The Rangers boss spoke to reporters yesterday, and delivered his verdict on Celtic, suggesting that if their performance two weeks ago was the best that they had, then there isn’t too much to worry about for his side, as quoted by the Daily Record:
“We know what Celtic are about. Brendan said they were excellent on the day. Celtic players seemed as if they were really happy about how they played. If that’s Celtic’s best, I am satisfied with how it looked second half, but there is certainly a lot for us to work on before getting ready for the next fixture.”
Rangers welcome Dundee to Ibrox today, and nothing less than a win will do for Steven Gerrard’s side.
