Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have signed four players so far this summer.
Fabio Cardoso became Rangers’ fourth signing of the summer on Wednesday by penning a three-year deal with the Ibrox club.
The Portuguese defender follows Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack and Dalcio to Glasgow.
It certainly seems like been another busy summer for Rangers and manager Pedro Caixinha has been linked to plenty more additions over the past week.
These are rather exciting times but fans of the Gers must learn from experience and not get overly excited by what the transfer window has brought them so far.
Under Mark Warburton, the Gers brought in 11 new faces last summer as Rangers looked to challenge Celtic on their return to the Scottish Premiership after a four-year absence.
As we know, there was not much of a “challenge” mounted as Celtic finished a whopping 39 points above their Old Firm rivals, who came third.
That gap illustrates perfectly the difference between quality and quantity. Warburton had the latter and it is imperative that Caixinha strikes a balance between the two if Rangers are to kick on next season and improve on their third-placed finish.
The early signs are promising and Caixinha seems to have brought in a few decent additions, but Ibrox fans should not get carried away by their summer business like so many did last summer.
