Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has said that Ibrox defender Lee Wallace will remain the Gers’ captain, just as Barry Ferguson wants.
Wallace has been on the books of Rangers since 2011 when he joined the Gers after leaving Heart of Midlothian.
Over the years, the 29-year-old left-back has established himself as a key player for Rangers and is one of the best players in his position in the Scottish Premiership.
The defender has also earned nine caps for the Scotland national football team and is hugely experienced.
Many Rangers have called on manager Caixinha to make new signing Bruno Alves the captain, as reported by HITC Sport earlier this month (click here to read more).

Alves joined the Scottish club earlier in the summer transfer window after leaving Italian outfit Cagliari at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
The 35-year-old Portugal international central defender is a hugely experienced footballer, who has won league titles with FC Porto, Zenit Saint Petersburg and Fenerbahce, as well as Euro 2016.
Caixinha, though, has made it clear that Wallace will wear the captain’s armband for the 2017-18 campaign.
“We will have a group of five captains,” Caixinha told The Daily Record. “Lee is the one who will wear the armband but who wears it is not important, the important thing is that I know that I chose those five for their character.”

Caixinha’s comments about Wallace will please former Rangers midfielder Barry Ferguson, as the 39-year-old wants the left-back to remain the team captain.
“I also hear Lee Wallace is in danger of losing the captaincy to Alves but in my opinion that would be a mistake,” Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record last week.
“Lee is a player I rate very highly. He had a poor game against Progres and has taken some stick in the Press and from fans but I don’t see the need for change.”
