Rangers manager Mark Warburton has told The Glasgow Evening Times that Clint Hill and Niko Kranjcar have been staggered by the amount of focus on the club.

Both Hill and Kranjcar joined Scottish Premiership side Rangers in the summer transfer window.

The duo were brought in to enhance the Gers’ chances of winning the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Hill, who is 37 years of age, was expected to strengthen the Rangers defence, while former Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Kranjcar was supposed to add creativity to the team.

However, neither players has played to the required standards, and Warburton has suggested that it is because they have been staggered by the amount of focus on Rangers and Celtic.

“Clint Hill with his vast experience and where he’s played at, Niko vastly experienced internationally as well, they are staggered by the amount of focus on Rangers and Celtic,” Warburton told The Glasgow Evening Times.

“But that’s Glasgow. It takes some getting used to. It’s a goldfish bowl and it takes some getting used to. Every goal is scrutinised, every miss is scrutinised.”

Rangers and Celtic are the two biggest clubs of Scotland, and dominate the media in Scotland.

As expected, the Bhoys are going strong in the Scottish Premiership at the moment.

Brendan Rodgers’s side are currently at the top of the league table with 16 points from six matches.

Rangers find themselves seventh in the standings at the moment with nine points from seven games.
