According to The Scotsman, Rangers boss Mark Warburton is confident of signing a new striker this week – but gave a coy response to the Daily Mail when asked about a move for Walsall’s Tom Bradshaw.
The Gers manager has been busy strengthening his squad with a host of new recruits, as Matt Gilks and Clint Hill have recently joined the likes of Joey Barton, Jordan Rossiter and Niko Kranjcar at Ibrox.
The Daily Mail note that centre back Oguchi Onyewu is on trial whilst full back Lee Hodson is set to sign from MK Dons, but attention now appears to be turning to the signing of a new striker.
Warburton saw Martyn Waghorn hit 28 goals last season, whilst veteran striker Kenny Miller scored 21 goals, giving Rangers two prolific forwards in the Scottish Championship.
However, with the step up in class that comes with promotion, Warburton appears to be keen on adding another striker to his ranks this summer.
The Scotsman report that Warburton is confident of snapping up a new goalscorer before the end of the week, with his summer activity heading towards completion if a new striker does arrive at Ibrox.
The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that Rangers have an interest in signing Welsh international striker Tom Bradshaw from Walsall, after the 23-year-old hit 20 goals in each of his last two seasons with the Saddlers.
Warburton, who is currently in the United States on a pre-season tour with Rangers, was asked by the Daily Mail about the possibility of moving for Bradshaw – but offered a coy response to the subject.
“He’s one of many who’s been mentioned,” said Warburton when asked about Bradshaw, suggesting it could be a different striker arriving at Ibrox this week.
