Mark Warburton has put any speculation regarding his future to bed by confirming that he and assistant manager David Weir will sign new contracts with Rangers this week, the Evening Times reports.
The Evening Times reports that there had previously been rumours that talks between the 53-year-old and the Light Blues had stalled despite the success that he enjoyed during his first season at Ibrox.
And with the former Brentford man – whose current deal runs until 2018 – being linked with a return to England, according to the Evening Times, some supporters may have been concerned that the longer the apparent stand-off continued, the more likely it would be that Warburton would be tempted by potential opportunities elsewhere.
However, Warburton has insisted that a resolution to the situation is now imminent.
“I will be signing a deal this week,” he told the Evening Times. “I’ve agreed a deal with the club to commit longer term, for another year until 2019.”

And he went on to confirm that Weir would be joining him in committing his future to the Gers.
“David is in the same situation. We will both sign new deals, probably tomorrow, another year’s extension on the current deals,” he added.
The fact that the pair are on the verge of sorting their futures will undoubtedly provide the squad with a massive boost ahead of the club’s return to the Scottish Premiership.
They have certainly made their mark on the team, instilling a style of play that saw them dominate in the second tier last season and largely come out on top when they came up against sides in the top flight.
And while the club have made several high-profile signings recently ahead of their return to the highest level, having Warburton and Weir sign new contracts will easily be amongst the best pieces of business they do all summer.
