Rangers defeated Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon, with an own goal from Brad McKay proving the difference between the two sides – although Martyn Waghorn may try and claim it as his own.

It was a good result for Rangers, who have now won their last four games, even if it was not vintage stuff from Mark Warburton’s men.

It was a game that required complete concentration from the Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, who was praised specifically by Mark Warburton after the game.

Speaking to the official Rangers website the Ibrox boss had this to say about the 25-year-old’s performance between the sticks:

“We had a couple of chances second half but he had to maintain concentration.

“He was on his toes, he was alert, a good low save and then at the end high to his right.

“So all credit to Wes, he maintained that focus and concentration and we emerged with the spoils when maybe today we didn’t deserve to.”

It was a good display from the keeper, who has been having a good season with the club this term.

He has had his critics at times and after a strong performance from Matt Gilks earlier in the season against Celtic some fans were calling on the experienced man to get some more regular first-team football at the club.

But Foderingham continues to have the backing of his manager and based on performances such as this – rightly so.
