Rangers defender Lee Wallace featured in the Scottish Premiership game against Kilmarnock at Ibrox at the weekend.

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has told the club’s official website that he was pleased with the performance of Lee Wallace against Kilmarnock at the weekend.

The Gers returned to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon, as they got the better of Kilmarnock 3-0 at home.

Wallace opened the scoring for the Glasgow giants at Ibrox after just 16 minutes.

Andy Halliday doubled Rangers’ advantage from the penalty spot just before the half-hour mark, and Joe Garner wrapped up the three points with his side’s third goal of the match just two minutes into the second half.

Warburton was pleased with the performance of defender Wallace against Kilmarnock.

The 29-year-old left-back started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.

“There are no doubts about Lee, people sound surprised but you saw his finish this afternoon and you saw his quality,” Warburton told Rangers’ official website about Wallace.

“The bravery he shows to get on the ball is first class, as is the bravery to get forward and the timing of his runs is impeccable at times.

“I think this season he individual hasn’t got the rewards for some of his performances but today was very strong.”
