The Ibrox supremo will not be losing sleep over Keane’s suggestion that his Rangers side is one of the worst he’s seen.

Rangers lost 5-1 in the Old Firm derby last weekend, in a result that sent the club crashing back down to earth.

Speaking after Celtic were dealt their own thrashing, 7-0 against Barcelona, former Celtic midfielder suggested that Mark Warburton’s current Rangers side are one of the worst he has ever seen.

These comments did not go down well with the Ibrox boss Mark Warburton.

Warburton is quoted in the Daily Mail as making it clear he will not be losing any sleep over the comments:

“What do you want me to say?

“Did he (Keane) say after the Scottish Cup semi-final win over Celtic last season that it was one of the best Rangers teams he’d ever seen? I don’t know.

“Listen, he is Roy Keane and has had a fantastic career as a player and manager. It’s his opinion. Am I going to lose any sleep over it? Absolutely not.”

Rangers have certainly struggled to replicate their form since promotion to the Scottish Premiership.

Their problems have been compounded this week by the Joey Barton affair and Rangers fans will no doubt be fearing the worst ahead of the clash with Ross County at the weekend.

Warburton though is clearly not prepared to take this lightly. He has hit back at Keane and taking drastic action with Barton – so is clearly trying to put an authoritative stance on his Rangers reign at this present moment.

Now he needs to rediscover the right formula to get back to Rangers’ best in the Scottish Premiership this term.
