Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers boast a very capable player in the form of the forward.

Rangers boss Mark Warburton has hailed Kenny Miller in an interview with the club’s official YouTube channel.

At 36, Miller is the second oldest player in Warburton’s squad – behind 38-year-old Clint Hill – but he has managed to put some of the younger players to shame.

The legendary Scottish hitman is Rangers’ leading goalscorer in the Premiership this season with four goals from 14 starts, having scored one more than Joe Garner, who cost £1.5 million from Preston North End in the summer.

That being said, he is out of contract with the Gers in the summer, but Warburton suggests that an extension may be up for grabs by claiming that the veteran marksman has been simply outstanding this season.

He told Rangers’ YouTube channel: “You know what I think of him. Kenny’s been outstanding for us this season, undoubtedly.”

The former Scotland international probably deserves an extension. Naturally he will become less and less lethal as time runs on, but his experience can still be a very good tool.

He has helped the Glasgow giants reach second in the Premiership so far but, with 11 points separating them from Celtic, Rangers are unlikely to mark their return to the big time with a title victory this season.
