Mark Warburton’s Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers visit the Dons this afternoon.

Speaking to The Scotsman, Mark Warburton has told his Rangers side to expect a tough test with Aberdeen today due to the “first class” Derek McInnes.
Rangers make the trip to Pittodrie today hoping to bring about the end of a disappointing run of Premiership results in recent weeks.
Warburton’s side were thrashed 5-1 by Old Firm rivals Celtic a fortnight ago, before drawing 0-0 with Ross County at Ibrox in a game which they could, and probably should, have won.

The Gers did, however, demolish Championship side Queen of the South 5-0 in Glasgow during the week to restore something of a feel-good factor ahead of their trip to Aberdeen – and they need the pick-me-up.
But this afternoon’s clash represents a much bigger test of Rangers’ mettle, with Aberdeen above Warburton’s side on goal difference.

McInnes has done a wonderful job with the Dons since taking over in 2013, and they have got progressively better under the 45-year-old’s stewardship, between Europa League qualifcation adventures and Premiership title bids.
“I’ve actually met Derek a few times and I’ve a lot of respect for what he’s done,” he told The Scotsman.
“He’s got a high-quality squad and added to it again this season so we know the test we face. The job he’s doing at Aberdeen is first-class.”
Today’s clash kicks off at 1pm.
