Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton is linked with reuniting with Jon Toral.

It should perhaps come as little surprise that Glasgow Rangers are making Arsenal youngster Jon Toral their top priority this transfer window.

The Mirror report Rangers have their sights set on signing Toral and discussions are already underway.

He has spent the first half of the season on loan at Granada in Spain but Rangers remain hopeful of landing the promising attacking midfielder.

Rangers boss Mark Warburton worked alongside Toral at Brentford when he had him on loan, and the Spaniard played a key role in helping the Bees make the play-offs.

Warburton spoke glowingly about Toral during his time at Griffin Park, lauding him as a tremendous talent.

He was quoted in The Mail in 2015: “He’s had a fantastic footballing education. He continued that at Arsenal. He’s come from a great crop of players.

“He is a tremendous talent. He is young and hungry and wants to play at the highest level possible. He’s very talented. I’m delighted to have him around.”

Hopes he can succeed Mesut Ozil at Arsenal appear optimistic at this point, but Toral is set up to have a successful professional career regardless.

At just 21 the former Barcelona trainee has a big reputation, which he enhanced on loan at Birmingham City last season.

Reuniting with Rangers boss Mark Warburton, who clearly believes heavily in him, could be just what he needs right now, and it is easy to imagine Toral running riot against opponents in the Scottish Premiership.
