The pair picked up knocks before and during Glasgow Rangers’ clash with Queen of the South, and Warburton has shed some light on the problems.

Mark Warburton has attempted to alleviate any concerns surrounding Rangers pair Josh Windass and Jason Holt by insisting that he did not want to take any risks with either player after they picked up knocks on Tuesday night, The Scottish Sun reports.
The Gers were looking for their first win in four games when they took on Queen of the South for a place in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.

However, their preparations were dealt a blow as Windass sustained an injury in the warm-up and had to be replaced in the starting line-up by Niko Kranjcar, The Scottish Sun reports.
And they suffered another blow when Holt had to be taken off at the break. But Warburton has explained that he has no major concerns over either player.
Jason Holt
“Josh Windass had a bit of tightness in his hamstring and we didn’t want to risk it. Jason Holt had a little bit of a tight quad at half-time and it’s better to be safe than sorry,” he told The Scottish Sun.
“It’s a long season with big games ahead so we need to keep it as fully fit as possible.”

Supporters will certainly be relieved that neither man suffered any significant injury. Windass has excited the Ibrox crowds since his arrival in the summer, and would be one of the players that Warburton would arguably look to to provide that creative spark that would inspire them to end their current wait for a Scottish Premiership win.
Meanwhile, Holt has only just returned to the team after over a month on the sidelines, so it would have concerned fans that he may have suffered a recurrence of his previous knock when he did not emerge after the interval.
However, with bigger priorities ahead, it is understandable why Warburton decided to make the decisions he did. And thankfully for the Gers, neither player was missed as Andy Halliday and Martyn Waghorn added to Holt’s opener to inspire the side to a 5-0 win.
