Glasgow Rangers defender Bruno Alves has not played for Graeme Murty’s side since December.

Alves, who joined Rangers in the summer of 2017, has not played for the Gers since suffering a calf injury against Old Firm rivals Celtic back in December 2017.
The 36-year-old Portugal international centre-back is fully fit at the moment, but the former Cagliari star is not guaranteed to return to the first team rightaway.
Rangers manager Murty has praised Alves for showing the right attitude in training, but the former Scotland international has suggested that the defender needs to be patient.

Murty told The Scottish Sun: “Everyone in the squad has to be patient. Everyone has to bring positive energy to the group and Bruno has done that.
“He trains fantastically well. He’s a consummate professional and he understands because of his experience, that we have to pick a team to win the game and that’s all it is.”

Tough weeks ahead
Alves is one of the most experienced and decorated players in the current Rangers squad, but the former Zenit Saint Petersburg star has not had a great time at Rangers so far this season.
True, the former FC Porto star had had injury concerns, but when the defender has played, he has not been exactly great, and it could be tough for him to play regularly for the Ibrox club between now and the end of the season.
