Glasgow Rangers playmaker Josh Windass has been linked with a move away from Ibrox.

Josh Windass of Rangers looks dejected after the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox Stadium on April 29, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Graeme Murty has told The Glasgow Evening Times that he has no intention of losing any other Rangers player during the winter transfer window.

According to Mexican news outlet El Universal, Carlos Pena is on the brink of leaving Rangers to reunite with new Cruz Azul boss Pedro Caixinha, who brought him to Glasgow last summer.

Pena, a £2.7 million signing, failed to adapt to life in the Scottish Premiership and fans of the Ibrox club won’t be sad to see him go.

Another Gers man linked away in recent weeks has been Josh Windass who, according to The Record, has been the subject of interest from Preston North End and other Championship sides South of the border.

But Murty has claimed that he isn’t open to the idea of selling anybody else in January.

“We aren’t pushing anyone out the door and I haven’t been told that anyone has to go. I haven’t been told that someone needs to go before I can bring someone else in,” he told The Glasgow Evening Times on Monday.

“If a player comes and says to me that he feels his options are limited and he’d like to go then I’d certainly listen to him.

“But we didn’t push Carlos out the door and we’re certainly not actively looking to sell anyone else.”

Keeping Windass would be brilliant for Rangers. The 23-year-old playmaker had a difficult first few months of the season under Caixinha, but under Murty he looks a far more productive player and surely Gers supporters will be anxious to keep him.
