Glasgow Rangers manager Graeme Murty says that he wants to bring Greg Docherty to Ibrox.
The Daily Record recently reported that Rangers are interested in signing Docherty from Scottish Premiership rivals Hamilton this month.
The report claimed that the Gers have made an approach over a £600,000 deal for the 21-year-old Scotland Under-21 international midfielder.
The Scottish Sun further reported that Hamilton The Accies want as much as £750,000 for Docherty.
Rangers manager Murty has revealed that the Ibrox club have made an approach for the talented and promising youngster.
“We made an approach, but that’s as far as things have gone,” Murty told The Scottish Sun. “We are looking to bring players in because we want the group to get stronger and be better.”
Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 40 points from 22 matches.
The Gers are 11 points behind leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic, who look set to win the league title yet again this season.
Murty’s side are only three points behind second-placed Aberdeen and are very much in the running for the runners-up spot.
