Rangers absolutely cruised to an Old Firm win against Celtic on Saturday.

Steven Gerrard’s side beat the Hoops 2-0 at Parkhead, courtesy of a brace from centre-back Connor Goldson.

In doing so, Rangers moved four points clear of Celtic – who have a game in hand – and the victory could be considered a big psychological boost.

This is the season that the Gers are forced to stop Neil Lennon’s side from winning 10 Premiership titles in a row and based on yesterday, they have every chance of doing that.

And speaking to The Scottish Sun afterwards, Gerrard delivered quite an insult toward Celtic which sums it up.

He said: “We are pleased but we haven’t been at our best or our maximum, but we didn’t need to be.”

And sadly for the Bhoys, he’s absolutely right.

The fact that Rangers won effortlessly without moving into top gear could and absolutely should scare Celtic fans, who watched their side failed to muster a shot on goal yesterday.

Because if the Ibrox outfit can dispose of the champions while barely breaking a sweat, it indicates there’s so much more to come from them this season.
