Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have signed seven players this summer, but Steven Gerrard hints that more will be coming.

Steven Gerrard has suggested to The Glasgow Evening Times that Rangers will be making more signings this summer.

The Gers wrapped up a deal for Joe Aribo earlier this week in what represented the seventh player that Gerrard has brought to Ibrox this summer.

Only one of those – Sheyi Ojo – is a loan but many of Rangers’ six permanent signings have either been free or bought for a nominal, six-figure fee.

Whatever war chest Gerrard was given at the start of the window, a sizeable chunk should remain and the light Blues’ manager told The Glasgow Evening Times that his squad ‘isn’t finished yet’.

He said, briefly: “The squad isn’t finished yet but it’s not far off.”

It isn’t a direct statement that he’ll sign more players, but it’s a pretty big clue that Aribo probably won’t be the last player to move to Rangers this summer.

It’s been an excellent summer on the recruitment front, but fans won’t rest easy until the window is completely closed.

As last summer proved for Celtic, who lost Moussa Dembele at the very end of the summer, you can never be certain that you’re going to keep your best players, but so far so good in regards to retaining 30-goal Alfredo Morelos.
