Rangers have lost one full back in Nathan Patterson, but Watford target Borna Barisic may not be following him out of Ibrox after all.
Nathan Patterson’s move from Rangers to Everton was confirmed on Tuesday, with the young right back heading off to Merseyside.
Rangers fans barely had time to react to the Patterson exit before another full back was being touted away from Ibrox.
The Daily Record reported that Watford had made a £2million bid for Rangers defender Barisic.
That offer came well short of the £5million Rangers wanted, meaning Watford’s bid was rejected immediately.
Yet if Rangers fans were worried that Watford would come back in with a new bid for Barisic, their fears have been eased.
Watford have since confirmed the signing of Nice left back Hassane Kamara, landing him on a deal until 2025.
The Ivorian’s arrival means Watford surely won’t be back in for Barisic having solved their left back issue.

Given that Adam Masina and Danny Rose are also at Watford, Barisic’s Ibrox exit surely isn’t going to happen now.
That’s a huge relief for Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who won’t have wanted to lose another full back so quickly.
Additionally, with Calvin Bassey playing at centre back under Van Bronckhorst, Rangers aren’t blessed with left back options.
All in all, Barisic staying is great news for Rangers.
