Glasgow Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has “settled in really well” at Ibrox since his January move from Dundee and is set to feature against Celtic.
Glasgow Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has singled Glen Kamara out for having settled in well at Ibrox following his January arrival from Dundee and believes Rangers have got themselves “a snip” in the player.
At the start of the year, the 23-year-old midfielder signed a pre-contract with Rangers on a four-and-a-half-year deal, but at the end of the transfer window the deal was brought forward.
The two clubs came to an agreement for the transfer of Kamara, with the Ibrox club paying Dundee £100,000 according to the Scottish Sun, and the Finland international has gone on to make 13 Gers appearances to date (Transfermarkt).
When asked by the Daily Record where he reckons Sunday’s Old Firm clash against Celtic will be won and lost, Ferguson cast an eye upon the Gers midfield, with Steven Davis and Ryan Jack also getting a mention, but elaborated specifically on Kamara.
“As a former midfielder, I always look at that area and I’ve been impressed with the trio of Steven Davis, Glen Kamara and Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield coming in off the left to link up with Jermain Defoe,” Ferguson is quoted in the newspaper as saying.
“They are all comfortable on the ball and dictated the games but this is the acid test against the champions and fiercest rivals. Glen Kamara has been a snip and you could see he was a good football player when he was at Dundee but it’s hard to judge when someone is playing in a struggling side, but he’s settled in really well.”
Prior to joining Steven Gerrard’s side, Kamara had linked up with Dundee from Arsenal in the summer of 2017 and made 19 appearances this season for the struggling Scottish Premiership outfit.
