Rangers defender Borna Barisic has made his return to action after a month on the sidelines, playing all 90 minutes as Scotland’s Euro 2020 rivals Croatia drew 1-1 with Armenia.

Barisic last featured for Steven Gerrard’s side in the 4-1 Old Firm thrashing of bitter rivals Celtic on May 2, limping off with 15 minutes left of the Ibrox win.

Ivan Perisic, winning his 100th cap, opened the scoring for Croatia after 28 minutes before the were pegged back with 18 minutes to go.

The Rangers star has cemented his place as Croatia’s first-choice at left-back in recent years and will be hoping to bring the curtain down on a fantastic campaign with international success.

The beaten 2018 World Cup finalists will be looking to build on that impressive outing as they take on Scotland, England and the Czech Republic later this month.

Before Euro 2020 gets underway, there’s one more friendly for Barisic and co, facing Belgium in Brussels on Sunday.

Rangers fans will be delighted to see Barisic come through unscathed on his return to action.

The Ibrox star made 50 appearances for Rangers this season in all competitions, scoring five times and contributing 14 assists on the way to the title.

The Croatian has been a massive player for Rangers over the last 12 months and with little real challenge for his jersey at Ibrox, getting him back to Glasgow fit will be crucial for Steven Gerrard and his staff.
