Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister has given an update on whether the Light Blues will have manager Steven Gerrard back in the dugout for Sunday’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox – admitting the Light Blues are following the guidance of doctors and the governing bodies.
Gerrard missed last night’s 0-0 draw with Alashkert in Armenia as Rangers booked their place in the Europa League group stage as Covid issues caused problems in the Gers’ squad.

McAllister insists that Rangers will “adapt day by day” ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm as they prepare to welcome back ‘four or five’ of the players who missed out last night.
“On the Covid issues we are guided by doctors and by the governing bodies,” McAllister said. “We adapt day by day to see who is available and who is not. That’s all we can do.
“Come Sunday, we’ll be given a squad of people who are available and we deal with it.
“The same goes for everybody [ including the manager], we’re just guided by doctors and governing bodies.”
As well as the return of the likes of Kemar Roofe, Rangers could hand a debut to Juninho Bacuna.
The Curacao international joined the Light Blues last week but is yet to make his first appearance for Steven Gerrard’s side.
