Rangers are again being linked with Bologna winger Andreas Skov Olsen – but it now looks like Hertha Berlin are leading the race.

Rangers’ interest in Skov Olsen

This one has been running for a little while now.

Rangers were linked with signing Skov Olsen on loan from Bologna back in August 2020.

Bologna were allegedly considering sending Skov Olsen to Ibrox, but Rangers weren’t able to get the deal done.

Italian newspaper Il Resto Del Carlino now claim that Rangers are back in for Skov Olsen and want him in January.

Given links to AZ Alkmaar’s Albert Gudmundsson, it looks like Rangers are keen to add another winger in 2022.

Skov Olsen could be that player and has untapped potential at just 21, but Rangers seem to be trailing in the race.

Hertha favourites to sign Skov Olsen

Corriere di Bologna report that Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin are now leading the race to sign Skov Olsen.

Bologna want a new right back but may need to offload Skov Olsen to make it happen.

Having paid €6million (£5.1million) for Skov Olsen, Bologna will surely want a chunk of cash back – even after just three goals in 68 games for the Italian club.

Hertha sit in mid-table in the Bundesliga, whilst Rangers can offer a title challenge and European action.

That’s something Skov Olsen has to consider before making a move to the German capital.

Primarily a right-sided winger with a great left foot, meaning he could form a front three with Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos at Rangers.

Rangers have work to do though if they’re get Skov Olsen signed up, with Hertha offering a legitimate threat.
