Rangers and West Bromwich Albion are both keen on Derek McInnes.

Derek McInnes is a man in demand with the Aberdeen boss linked with positions at Rangers and West Bromwich Albion.

SkyBet cite McInnes as 6/4 second favourite for the Rangers job – and he is 14/1 fourth favourite for the West Brom post.

McInnes meanwhile is resisting speculation, and openly becoming a little annoyed with it.

He told SkySports he was losing patience with the constant job change talk, and is focused on Aberdeen.

McInnes played for both Rangers and West Brom during his career and would be a popular appointment at either club.

His work at Aberdeen has rightly made him ‘in demand’, but he has struggled to challenge reigning champions Celtic.

Celtic have proved dominant at every turn, and after their latest defeat against them, McInnes sounded crestfallen and out of answers.

So the question of McInnes is ‘if not Rangers or West Brom, then who?’, as it appears he is unable to take Aberdeen to the next level.

McInnes is comfortable at Pittodrie, but sooner or later he might decide to challenge himself.

He turned down Sunderland in the summer, sensibly considering their current predicament.

West Brom and Rangers are both more attractive jobs, and given his prior experience with each, McInnes risks waiting for a perfect job which may never come his way, when the right opportunities appear to be available right now.
