Glasgow Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty continues to shine during his time away from Ibrox.

There is surely no Rangers player doing a better job of proving a point to Steven Gerrard out on loan than Greg Docherty, with the midfielder scoring again on Tuesday night.
Docherty was arguably the Gers star that left Ibrox in the summer with the best chance of making the grade with his parent club. His departure was something of a surprise and seemed to be due to how much competition he had for a place in the team, rather than a sign that he was not wanted.
And he is certainly vindicating the Light Blues’ decision to let him leave on loan in the summer. He helped Shrewsbury to a 2-0 win on Tuesday with his fourth league goal of the campaign.
Docherty picked the ball up down the left flank and found his way to the corner of the box before unleashing a strike across the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner.

And after picking up the man of the match award, the 22-year-old took to Twitter to express his delight at securing the win and improving his goals tally further. He remains the joint top goalscorer in the Shrews’ squad.
And that prompted a number of fans of the League One side to laud the midfielder, while several of the Ibrox faithful suggested that they were extremely excited about his return to the Scottish Premiership side – whether that be in the summer, or perhaps in January.

Here is Docherty’s tweet as well as some of the responses from the two sets of fans…
