Rangers are in need of new signings after Saturday’s 5-1 home defeat to Celtic, and Rotherham United’s Will Vaulks is a target according to the Daily Mail.

The Gers were hammered by their Old Firm rivals in a disappointing display, which again showed that new manager Pedro Caixinha needs reinforcements to boost his squad.

Not only do the Daily Mail claim that Caixinha wants 12 new signings this summer as he looks to mould the squad into his own, but one target is believed to be Will Vaulks.

Rotherham ace Vaulks, 23, was with Tranmere Rovers before joining Falkirk in 2013, and he made almost 150 appearances for the Scots, whilst scoring 13 goals.

Last summer, Vaulks – who can play at centre back, right back and in holding midfield – left Falkirk to join Rotherham United, and he has grabbed one goal and one assist in 39 Championship appearances.

With The Millers already relegated to League One, some key players may be the subject of summer bids – and it’s believed that Rangers are lining up a £400,000 move to sign Vaulks, luring him back to Scotland.

Rotherham fans have taken to Twitter to offer their thoughts on the rumours, with some feeling that Vaulks has been steadily improving and is worth more £400,000, with others keen to see Rangers defender James Tavernier head in the opposite direction having spent time on loan with the Millers.

Rangers supporters also had their say, with many believing that Vaulks simply isn’t good enough if the club’s target is to close down Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership – though some were suitably impressed with his displays for Falkirk against Rangers to suggest that he would be a smart addition.
