Rangers and Leeds United fans have been reacting on Twitter to reports coming out of the Daily Record which suggested that the Whites are ready to make a January bid for Josh Windass.

Windass has been exceptional during Graeme Murty’s tenure. The 24-year-old is currently the second highest goalscorer in the Gers squad, with six strikes coming in the Scottish Premiership this season.

The Record reports that Preston North End are keen on the former Accrington Stanley ace and have seen a £500,000 bid rejected, but Leeds are ready to rival the Lilywhites and better their offer for Windass.

Unsurprisingly, news of the links has prompted plenty of discussion on Twitter amongst both Rangers and Leeds fans. And while Gers fans are generally desperate to see the forward stay at Ibrox, there has been a much more mixed response amongst the Elland Road faithful.

Leeds are seventh in the table but have scored one goal in their last four and none of their strikers have exactly convinced this term, so many of the fans have suggested that they should be concentrating on signing a new goalscorer rather than Windass.

However, there are also a number of Leeds supporters who have been impressed by the Englishman and are hoping that the Championship side now step up their interest.

Here is the best of the reaction…
