Harry Wilson has outlined his target for next season amid reports Glasgow Rangers want him at Ibrox while their rivals are also keen.

It appears that Rangers and Celtic could well be in for disappointment in their reported pursuit of Harry Wilson this summer after the winger told Liverpool’s official website that his goal for pre-season is to force his way into the Reds’ first-team for the coming campaign.
The Scottish Sun has recently reported that the Hoops and Gers are both keen on landing Wilson on loan next season after his inspired spell with Hull where he scored seven goals in 13 appearances for the Championship side.

The Scottish Sun added that Celtic were optimistic of beating Rangers in the race for the 21-year-old’s signature, but Wilson has dropped a major hint that he would prefer to go nowhere this summer when asked about his plans for pre-season.
“Last year I was desperate to make an impact in pre-season but I picked up a little injury and that stopped me doing so. With the loan spell behind me, I’ve got a lot of confidence and belief that this season can be my season,” he told the club’s official website.

“I went out and got the minutes I needed, scored a few goals and helped Hull climb the table a bit. I really enjoyed that. Now I’m focusing on doing well in pre-season and hopefully getting into this team.”
While Liverpool are already one of the continent’s most exciting sides when it comes to going forward, it may perhaps not be beyond Wilson to force his way into contention for more first-team chances next season.
However, it would be a major surprise if Rangers and Celtic decided to give up on trying to land Wilson while the window is open. Although the winger is keen to break into Jurgen Klopp’s plans, the German may decide that another loan move may hand the youngster the best chance to continue his development.
And with the stature that both Rangers and Celtic boast and the expectation that they have to cope with, it would be little surprise if Klopp perhaps looked to steer the starlet towards Ibrox or Parkhead should he decide that he is going to be loaned out this summer, especially as the Gers and the Hoops could potentially offer Wilson the chance to play European football next season.
