Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to bring Crystal Palace’s James McArthur to Ibrox. Aston Villa and Cardiff City have also been linked with the Gers target.

Rangers are among the clubs linked with Crystal Palace central midfielder James McArthur, with The Daily Mail reporting last month that the Gers are interested in bringing the Scotland international to Ibrox this summer.
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, though, are not the only club who are reported to be interested in the 30-year-old.
Earlier this month, The Daily Mail reported that Premier League side Cardiff City and Championship club Aston Villa want to secure the services of McArthur, who earns £50,000 per week as salary according to Spotrac.com.
McArthur, who started his professional club football career at Hamilton Academical before moving to Wigan Athletic in 2010 and then to Palace in the summer of 2014 for a transfer fee reported by The London Evening Standard to be worth £7 million, has said that he does not plan to leave the Eagles in the summer transfer window and wants to end his career at the London club.

“I’m not bothered [about the speculation],” McArthur told Londonnewsonline.co.uk. “I’m a Palace player, I love it here. I want to stay here. I’d love to finish my career here. I love it.”

Stats
McArthur is a very good player for Palace and has proved himself in the Premier League over the years.
The Scotland international midfielder scored five goals and provided one assist in 27 Premier League starts for the Eagles this season. McArthur remaining at Palace is certainly great for the London club.
