Scottish Premiership powerhouses Rangers could lose top scorer Alfredo Morelos to Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Alfredo Morelos told W Radio last week that he thinks his second season at Rangers will be his last.

The Colombian striker has been linked with countless clubs across the world over the last 12 months or so but reports from Sky that Borussia Dortmund want to bring him to Germany have certainly caught the eye.

Dortmund are an established Champions League club after all and are leading the Bundesliga with just two months left in the season. And they would surely have little difficulty paying the £20 million Rangers want for their 28-goal top scorer.

But would Morelos jump at the chance to swap Ibrox for Germany? Well, he maybe should.

While the 22-year-old has been linked with clubs in China and Turkey, Dortmund would provide a platform for him to prove himself on a much grander stage. And if Morelos tuned into their Champions League clash with Tottenham on Tuesday night, he will know that he could thrive under Lucien Favre.

Dortmund lost 1-0 against Spurs but created a whole host of chances throughout the 90 minutes, the likes of Marco Reus, Raphael Guerrero, Jadon Sancho and Mario Goetze constantly opening up the visitors’ defence with their vision and intelligence.

BVB missed chance after chance, however – so no wonder they want a clinical goalscorer like Morelos. If he has 28 goals for Rangers, just imagine how prolific he would be lining up against some of the most creative talents in European football.

This is a move that could suit player and club down to the ground.
