The Rangers ace opened up on the words of wisdom he received from Steven Gerrard.

Ryan Kent of Rangers arrives at the stadium prior to the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Rangers at Celtic Park Stadium on September 2, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers ace Ryan Kent spoke to reporters after scoring only his fifth goal in 87 career appearances on Saturday, and opened up on a conversation that he shared with Steven Gerrard regarding his lack of goals, as quoted by the Scotsman.

The 21-year-old joined the Gers from Liverpool in the summer on a season-long loan, and has chalked up just a goal and an assist in 11 appearances in all competitions thus far.

Kent has shown glimpses of his quality, however, and has undoubtedly provided Rangers with more impetus in the final third.

The Liverpool-owned winger will surely now be boosted after breaking his goalscoring duck for Rangers against Dundee on Saturday, and that can only be good news for Gerrard’s side.

Kent spoke to reporters after his side’s 4-0 win at the weekend, and shared what Gerrard told him about his dry spell in front of goal, as quoted by the Scotsman:

“The fans have been really good to me here, I can’t fault them, they have always been supportive of me. I know myself that I need to add goals to my game. But the gaffer has told me not to worry about it. He said I just need to focus on my own performances and that my performances have been good up to now.”

Next up for Rangers is their crucial Europa League clash with Villarreal on Thursday night, and Kent will have to be at his very best, if his side have any chance whatsoever of leaving Spain with a positive result.
