The Rangers youngster is hoping for more opportunities this season under Ibrox chief Steven Gerrard.

Rangers youngster Ross McCrorie spoke exclusively to Sky Sports about how he is settling into life under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, and shared what he discussed with the former Liverpool and England skipper before the season started, regarding his best position.
The 20-year-old was thrown in at the deep end last season by both Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty, with both managers deploying him in an unfamiliar centre-back role.
McCrorie sees himself firmly as a central midfielder now, though, as does Gerrard.
The Scotland under-21 international spoke exclusively to Sky Sports, and opened up on a discussion that he shared with the Rangers boss before the season started, regarding as to where his best position is:

“I see myself as a central midfielder now, that’s where I’ve been playing mostly. I’ve not really been playing anywhere else recently. But wherever the gaffer plays me I’ll try my best and we’ll see how it goes. The gaffer spoke to me at the beginning of the season, we talked about what position he sees me in and where he prefers me playing. Obviously I’ve been playing my best football in centre mid and that’s where I’ve been playing recently, so that must be where the gaffer sees me in future. But it comes down to this – I’m a Rangers fan so I’d play anywhere for this club.”
Gerrard’s men are expected to push Celtic all the way for the Scottish Premiership title this season, and McCrorie will be hoping that he is given the opportunity to prove his worth on a regular basis.
The Glasgow giants are looking for their first league title since 2011, and boyhood Rangers fan McCrorie might just come of age this term, whichever position he is played in.
