Rangers midfielder Lassana Coulibaly needs to do more for the Ibrox side.

Glasgow Rangers midfielder Lassana Coulibaly had another disappointing game despite a 4-1 win for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Coulibaly was ineffective for Rangers against Hamilton and his form is becoming a concern.

Signed on loan from French side Angers, Coulibaly was a real surprise in his first month at Rangers.

Little was expected from the 22-year-old, who was very much a wildcard signing by Gerrard.

Coulibaly began well and completely reset expectations after settling instantly, looking like he should be a weekly starter.

An injury kept him out in late August and early September and since returning, he has not looked quite like the same player.

Gerrard has largely kept faith with the loanee, but competition for places in midfield is intense.

Yesterday’s performance against Hamilton was not good from Couliably, as he was unable to influence the attack or defence in a positive manner for Rangers.

Rangers have a crucial cup semi-final coming up at the end of the month against Aberdeen and Coulibaly is doing little to state his case for selection.

A place on the bench looks most likely after this performance.
