Lafferty has teased former Celtic defender O’Dea on Twitter.

Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty has taken to Twitter to tease former Celtic defender Darren O’Dea, asking the Dundee centre-back if he was a “secret bluenose” and whether he would like to be a mascot at Ibrox this season.
Lafferty, 30, failed to provide the difference from out wide on Sunday afternoon as Celtic won the first Old Firm derby of the season thanks to Olivier Ntcham’s second-half goal.
New signing Lafferty was forced to play out wide instead of being used down the middle due to the presence of Alfredo Morelos, and he struggled to have an impact on the game.
Replying to Gareth McAuley’s Tweet, Lafferty joked with O’Dea by asking if he was a secret Rangers fan, before teasing him even further by suggesting he should be a mascot at Ibrox this season.
O’Dea came through the ranks at Celtic and clocked up 58 appearances for the Hoops before leaving to join MLS side Toronto in the summer of 2012, after loans with Leeds, Reading and Ipswich during his time at Parkhead.
He has since played in Ukraine and India, before returning to Scotland with Dundee. Rangers, in fact, face O’Dea’s side next time out at Ibrox, with Neil McCann’s Dark Blues losing all four of their opening Scottish Premiership matches.
Lafferty has impressed since returning to Rangers from Hearts, scoring a brace against Motherwell and proving to be a crucial substitute in the away tie against Russian side FC Ufa.
