Glasgow Rangers will be without Jamie Murphy for the rest of the season after the winger picked up an injury in the Ibrox side’s latest game.
Jamie Murphy has taken to Twitter to issue a defiant message after it was reported by BBC Sport that the Rangers winger is set to miss the rest of the season after sustaining a knee injury.
Murphy only joined the Gers permanently at the start of the summer having spent the second-half of last season on loan at Ibrox, but his campaign has been brought to a premature end following the club’s 3-1 cup win over Kilmarnock at the weekend.
The Scotland international had to be taken off after hurting his knee and BBC Sport is now reporting that he will be sidelined for the rest of the campaign in what is undoubtedly a massive blow for Steven Gerrard and Rangers.
The 28-year-old has been one of the club’s most consistent performers since arriving from Brighton at the start of the year, providing seven assists in the Scottish Premiership last term and making an encouraging start to this campaign.
And after the reports emerged that he will be missing for the rest of the season, the winger took to social media to thank the supporters for the messages and express his determination to get back to the level that he was at before he sustained the injury. Here is what Murphy posted on Twitter…
Rangers return to action tomorrow night as they host Ufa in the first-leg of their Europa League play-off round tie, while a trip to Murphy’s old side Motherwell lies ahead at the weekend.
