Does Greg Docherty have a future at Ibrox?

There is one person who may not be too comfortable with Rangers’ current transfer activity.
Rangers loanee Greg Docherty will be feeling a little nervous about the recent incomings and projected additions.
Steven Gerrard told Docherty there was not room for him in his Rangers squad this season, and sent the former Hamilton man on loan to Shrewsbury, just six months after he signed at Ibrox.
Docherty was done absolutely everything right since.
The loaned out Rangers man has scored consistently from midfield, netting seven times and providing seven assists in 28 games.
He played well in Shrewsbury’s televised FA Cup game, and was congratulated by Rangers’ social media team.

The Light Blues’ January response was not to recall Docherty, but to sign midfielder Steven Davis and tie up a pre-contract deal for Glen Kamara.
The Daily Record has even subsequently claimed Rangers want to sign another player in his position, Derby’s Craig Bryson.
Whether the Bryson move materialises or not, Docherty’s task looks even harder this summer than in presently does, even if one or two others are moved on.
His response must be to take his performances up another notch, to the point where Rangers have to give him equal footing with his new and old teammates in the summer.
