The Rangers winger has thrived since Steven Gerrard took over at Ibrox.
Rangers winger Glenn Middleton spoke to reporters after his side’s disappointing 4-3 defeat away at Spartak Moscow last night, and admitted that he cannot afford to get overwhelmed with the stage that he is performing on, as quoted by BT Sport.
The 18-year-old joined Rangers from Norwich City in January of this year, and he has gone on to make 14 appearances in all competitions for the senior side.
With Ryan Kent currently out injured, Middleton has a real chance to prove his worth to Steven Gerrard, and he would have done his chances of earning regular first-team action the world of good last night, after scoring his side’s third goal in Russia.
The Gers forward told reporters that he cannot afford to get overwhelmed with the stage he is playing on, however, as quoted by BT Sport:
“I just need to take it bit by bit. I can’t get too overwhelmed with the stage that I’m performing on. I’m loving it. I have always said I am very grateful for the opportunities I am given. But I also think there’s a lot more to come from me personally once I get fully fit and I get going. With more minutes, hopefully there will be more to come.”
Next up for Rangers is a home clash with Motherwell on Sunday, and Middleton will be hoping for another opportunity to impress his manager.
